President Totzke Resigning to Move to Portland

larrysylviaIVS President, Larry Totzke has submitted his resignation from the Board of Trustees effective May 31st.  He and his wife, Sylvia will be moving to Portland, OR in June.

“We have thoroughly loved living in the Short North for the past 14 plus years, and we have both loved working and volunteering in our neighborhood,” Totzke said. “But, we have at least one big adventure left in us, and now seems to be the right time to embark on a major move. Why Portland? Because Sylvia’s sister, our only other family member, lives in Seattle, and we want to move closer to her.  Plus the climate and the city of Portland seem to be great fits for us.”

The Short North Alliance honored Larry and Sylvia as “Unsung Heroes” at their 2015 Gala in April.

Italian Village Potluck June 9

IVparkThe annual potluck picnic sponsored by the Italian Village Society will be held June 9th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Italian Village Park.  The picnic is a great opportunity for residents to get together over delicious food and enjoy the ambience of the park on a beautiful (we hope) late spring evening.

The IVS will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages and we ask those who attend to bring a salad, vegetable, or dessert to share.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend!
